Maleek and Caitlyn both attended Appalachian State University, but never met while they were students. During college, Maleek did an Appstate Instagram takeover that caught Caitlyn’s attention, and she gave him a follow, never expecting it to become anything more. A few years later during the COVID-19 quarantine, Caitlyn posted a picture of the newest Call of Duty with her gamer tag on her Instagram story, and Maleek replied. What started as a few games quickly became nightly Warzone matches, hours of FaceTime conversations, and an unexpected friendship that grew into something much deeper.
And the rest is history
When restrictions were finally lifted, they met in person to listen to jazz in the park, and the rest is history. The story began with a simple follow and a shared love of gaming, but it’s been built on friendship, laughter, and always choosing each other.
